During the work on new games we faced with the problem of creation of animated and static sprites. Eventually, after trying various graphic packages, we decided to create our own - SpriteMaker. (z80 . trd)

It was planned to create the entire package which would simplify the development of games, but so far there is only this one that is ready.

SpriteMaker has a quite wide set of options. Actually, it has everything that is needed for creation of moderate games. It has a support for many types of interfaces: from standard (such as joystick) to relatively new for Speccy (such as mouse).

Files are saved in the convenient format that used in further development. Program was written for TR-DOS.

Many memories are associated with this piece of work - Virgula, taken from Latin expression "Virgula Mercurialis", which supposed to be a some kind of magic stick - one of the "must have" tools for every respected wizard of those times. (z80 . trd)

Seems nothing special, but miseries of the future interested people of all centuries - hence interest in astrology, magic, caballa, etc.

Using your date of birth and name, Virgula would help you to find out planet locations at the time of your birth (probably the most truthful feature of this program):

and other "useful" information.

Of course, it is not quite true what this program predicts, but if you knew that all the pictures had to be done manually pixel by pixel… It’s like a hand made embroidery pillow, really…

Another program is, probably, the first thing we wrote as FreeGroup - Poker 4. (z80 . trd)

Variation of the card poker for the die. This game is for two players, where computer does all the record, watches the rules and throws the die for you.

This is a very addictive game. The rules were made not by us, of course, however we couldn’t help not to make some changes. For example, so called "Blitz" was absent in the original game.

Not finished games can be saved...
